Sketching Exercises Using Photographic References

The goal of this exercise is to train value, contrast, composition and perspective skills. I'm using pencils as painting tool and photographs as references, except by sketching still life.

There is some digital retouching, affecting contrast, to get more detail from the scans. For starters, I'm making a list of possible subjects that can be interesting or challenging, and sorting them out after these categories:
